Water color Wonder, Tote Bag and Note Card

Supplies Needed:
  • pieces of DSP 6 1/4 by 3 1/2"
  • coordinating cardstock 5 1/4 by 2 1/2"
  • 2 strips of cardstock 8 1/2 by 1/4"
  • 4 strips of cardstock 6 1/4 by 1/2"
  • 4 silver brads
  • 4 Petite petals - Petite petals punch
  • Paper Piercer
  • double sided tape
Assembling Purse:
  1.  Apply double sided tape to the 4 strips of 6 1/4 by 1/2" pieces of cardstock

Build the Base
  1. Take the 5 1/4 by 2 1/2" piece of cardstock and score 1/2" all four sides.
  2. Fold along the score lines and burnish with bone folder
  3. Cut the score lines at the 2 longer ends.
  4. Add double sided tape to the right side of the flaps created
  5.  Tape the flaps to the long sides to form the base.
Make Bag:
  1. With a piece of double sided tape join the 2 pieces of DSP to form one long piece that needs to be at least 12 1/2" long. Tape with the wrong sides facing up
  1. Run an adhesive strip down the bottom edge and along the edge of one end.
  2. Remove the protective strip of the tape.
  3. Start adhering this strip to the base in the middle of one of the ends with the paper at the edge of the base.  Adhere the DSP all the way around the base making sure the edge of the DSP is at the edge of the base.  Try not to crease the edge because you want the rounded look. When the DSP meets the edge of where you started, overlap the starting piece over it.  Adhere the two sides.
  4. Remove tape cover from the 6 1/4 by 1/2" strips.  Two will be adhered to the bottom, and two to the top.
  5. Lay the first strip centered on the bottom edge and adhere it to the bottom.  Then take another strip and adhere it to the top making sure the edges of the strip abut the edge of the tote.
  6. Now do the same on the other side.
Attach the handles
  1. Score the  handles 1/2" on both sides and apply tape and tear to the ends
  2. Attach handles to tote bag
  3. Poke a hole with the paper piercer through a flower and then where the handle is attached.
  4. Insert a brad through this.
