Valentine Treat Box Tutorial

This cute little Valentine treat box makes a great gift for teacher, etc as the candy in it is well sealed and easy to transport.  It is fairly easy to make, and designer paper is used rather than cardstock.
Here's the picture:
 Materials:
  • More Amore designer paper
  • 1/4" Primrose Pink stitched satin ribbon
  • Whisper White paper
  • Large Delicate Doilie die
  • Happy Valentine - Heart stamp
  • Iridescent Ice embossing powder
  • Hand held paper punch
  • Primrose Petals ink
  • Scoring device
  • Paper snips
  • Adhesive

Here's how I made it:
  1. Cut a piece of designer paper 8 1/2 by 5 1/2".  Score at 2, 4, 6, & 8 on the long side and 2" on one of the short sides
This is the template
      2.  With paper snips, cut up to the 2" score line along the other score lines.  Completely cut out the small end piece.

     3.  Start assembling the box.  Apply adhesive to all the bottom flaps except the far right hand flap.  Starting on the left hand side, fold the flap to the underside of the flap next to it.  Than attach the 3rd flap to the underside of the 2nd.

     4.  Before attaching the last flap, attach the narrow flap to the inside of the box.  Then attach the last flap to the bottom.

     5.  Push in both sides with your hands to create the dented sides of the box.

     6.  Add the candy at this point.

     7. Close the top edges together.  Mark 2 areas at the top where holes will be punched. The ribbon will go through these holes.

     8.  Punch holes where the pencil marks were.  Feed ribbon through these holes from the back.  Either tie into a know or form a bow.

     9.  Completed box.  Decorate as desired.
